GRATITUDE CHARACTERISTIC ANALYSIS AND ITS INTERVENTION IN VARIOUS COUNTRIES IN THE GLOBALIZATION ERA

Abstract
Gratitude is one of various things that underlies people’s welfare. Gratitude is a feeling towards the achievements of all the individuals in the present life. Gratitude is marked by the appreciation to God, the universe, and people surrounding. Low gratitude tends to cause negative emotions which is characterized by symptoms of anxiety and depressive. Based on this, gratitude should be owned by children, youths, and adults in the modern era. The reason the importance of having a sense of gratitude is influenced by the demands of globalization is synonymous with challenges and competition in various aspects of life such as education, economy, and employment. The youths as the future generation should have a high sense of gratitude.  They who lack of gratitude will easily feel anxiety and dissatisfaction in achieving life such as thinking bad things which can be the threat to success, many complains, low religiosity, and narcistic. The fundamental characteristic of youths who have low gratitude are unskilled in managing the positive feeling and tend to show negative emotions such as symptoms of anxiety, anger, sadness, and depression. This study analyzed fifteen previous studies that discuss gratitude characteristics in various countries. The results of this study could be a contribution to the teachers and parents in preparing individuals who are able to compete in the globalization era.
